I was interested in the gap between my studio spaces and the type of action and object that would develop in each space. There is something about the dual and parrallel practice locationally divided but sharing the same or similar thought processes. I took a picture of my studio at home and put it on the wall in my studio in new cross - a meeting point - a reflection - comment. Whilst I read in London my objects in Norwich are still, and whilst I read around their subject identity they are temporarily removed from it. I am conscious of now being conscious in both spaces, the thought I am having and notating, the choices to draw a circle, use a post it, highlight a word are heightened. I feel in the event of my own making and the 'stuff' I bring to London or choose to leave become more resinant now. It might be territorial - but not of a space itself but a space for thought and importantly application. There is no given, no taking it for granted. There is the need for a set piece, the starting block.

Kimberley FosterKimberley's practice as an artist is pedagogical, it doesn’t just reference learning, it plays with, embodies and encourages learning at its core. The objects consider ideas of collaboration and authorship, discussions about touch and encounter, and bring into active consideration issues of learning within social and participatory practices.
